General Information

James Madison University’s Libraries and Educational Technologies (LET) is seeking a part-time Educational Technology Instructor who will assist the Instructional Technology Team with developing, implementing and delivering instruction to students, faculty and staff in the use of instructional technologies and creation of media.

Work hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Occasionally, the employee may be expected to work nights or weekends as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist the Instructional Technology Team with developing, implementing and delivering instruction programs to students, faculty, and staff in the use of instructional technologies and creation of media. This position will also be expected to deliver instruction using a variety of techniques, as appropriate and assist in the creation and maintenance of support materials. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:
-Demonstrated experience and ability in teaching, preferably in a higher education environment.

-Demonstrated ability to quickly learn a variety of web based and client-installed programs used for creating websites; editing images, video and other multimedia; collaborating online with other users; and instructing in a technology-rich classroom.

-Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively in a Mac and PC environment (Mac preferred).

-Demonstrated ability to create effective training outlines and materials; communicate with customers, coworkers and students in a professional and customer-service oriented manner; work in an environment that occasionally requires flexibility in schedule; meet deadlines; and work independently and in a team environment.

-Preferred experience with Canvas, WebEx, Adobe Creative Cloud Software and Services, Microsoft Office applications.

Condition(s) of Employment

This is a part-time wage position working an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
