Educational Technology Specialist
The Position
As part of our Center for Teaching and Learning, the full-time, 10-month Educational Technology Specialist's primary charge is to ensure that teachers are well supported and well advised in areas related to technology and learning. To do so, the Educational Technology Specialist provides individual tutorials, leads group professional development sessions, co-plans lessons with teachers, and finds innovative ways to inspire our faculty to thoughtfully and innovatively utilize digital tools. The Educational Technology Specialist strives to help teachers integrate technology in ways that help them deepen learning experiences for all of their students. The Educational Technology Specialist will teach one or two classes of Upper or Middle School students per term.

The Educational Technology Specialist:
- Encourages and models a growth-minded approach to teaching and learning.
- Coaches faculty from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines as they grow as teachers, learners, and thinkers.
- Is proactive, service-oriented, and creative in seeking ways to provide tailored teacher support.
- Through research and external relationships, investigates innovative practices in educational technology; helps faculty determine which of these best suit their needs.
- Recognizes institutional needs relative to industry best practices and trends.
- Is grounded in educational best practices and integrates technology thoughtfully and intentionally.
- Models effective practices in technology use in the classroom
Relevant experience:
- Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree and a strong academic background.
- Candidates with classroom experience in grades 6-12 will be viewed favorably.
- Knowledge of adult learners or experience working with teachers through professional development is considered a huge plus.
