Educational Technology Specialist

Full-Time, Non-Exempt 12 Month Position



Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart seeks a full-time Educational Technology Specialist to support the work of our students, faculty, and school community. This staff member will be responsible for:

•  Maintaining an inventory of classroom technology and coordinating the checking in and out of all equipment. 

•  Setting up classrooms and event spaces with computers, projectors, microphones, smart boards, etc… 

•  Overseeing events in the Theatre which need technical support like all-school meetings, theatre productions, class presentations, etc…  

•  Responding to work orders in a timely fashion to make sure all daily technology needs are met during classes and for special events. 

•  Purchasing and maintaining a stock of all necessary bulbs, cables, and other materials such that all technology equipment is ready for use at all times. 

•  Training teachers on the use of educational technology in their classroom (including the use of smart projectors and SMARTboards) and troubleshooting issues for teachers as they arise during the school day. 

•  Training teachers and troubleshooting the use of software programs throughout the school including the complete Google platform and the school’s new database management program (in collaboration with the Academic Office and Chair of Academic Technology). 




Requirements:



• Ability to lift 40+ lbs 

• Ability to work limited after school and evening events 

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience (please detail in cover letter) 

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) 

• Degree from a 2 or 4 year college (or equivalent)


• Willingness to learn select Technical Theatre skills like lighting and sound design.
