Educational Technology Specialist

Valley Beth Shalom Harold M. Schulweis Day School, a K-6 Solomon Schechter elementary school with approximately 250 students, offers a forward-thinking education and enriching foundation for life’s journey. Teaching responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Technology Director
● Help develop the vision and implementation of the technology program in coordination with administration
● Provide professional development for faculty and administration- both workshop presentations and consultation
● Create, introduce, implement and follow up with existing and new AUPs (Acceptable Use Policies)
● Oversee the use and development of the Innovation Lab
● Assist in developing strategies for the use of technology in the new 21st Century Library and Israel Interactive Center
Technology Teacher
● Teach technology classes to students in grades K-6
● Integrate technology with General and Judaic Studies Directors, teachers and the Curriculum Coordinator
● Meet with teachers, general and Judaic, on an ongoing basis to find ways to integrate technology into existing and new curricula
● Help develop and utilize iPad and laptop integration throughout the grade levels and subject areas
● Help to establish goals, timelines and skills needed to complete multimedia projects
● Teach keyboarding
● Attend and support presentations, both in school and at evening events
IT Support
● Work with IT Director to help support teachers
Technology Task Force
● Serve on Technology Task Force
Yearbook Coordinator
● Coordinate the creation of the school’s annual yearbook with the Art Specialist
● Work with committee members as assigned
ERB Testing Support
● Help support online testing with the Director of General Studies and IT Director.
Robotics Team Coordinator
● Conduct weekly after school club sessions
● Attend one to two competitions per year on Sundays
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
● Meet with the Curriculum Coordinator, and Directors of General and Judaic Studies for curriculum planning and implementation
● Additional responsibilities as determined by the Head of School
Qualifications:
● Experience in teaching technology as a separate or integrated subject
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college or university required
● Teaching credential and experience in elementary grades required
● Certifications and membership in technology organizations preferred
