Town is seeking an educational technology teacher and integrationist. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of teaching experience working with students in grades K-4. A credential or master’s degree is preferred.  Candidates should also have experience designing technology-rich lessons and projects, experience with maker/tinker lessons, coding, robotics, and extensive knowledge of a wide array of digital tools.

Specific Responsibilities:

Inspire and stimulate an innovative learning environment
Connect curriculum, instruction, and technology
Empower students and faculty to use technology tools
Promote digital citizenship and media literacy
Coach and mentor faculty on technology integration
Develop knowledge of each grade level curriculum and support teacher’s use of appropriate technology, software, and other resources that support the goals of classroom projects; provide direct, short-term support for classroom projects
Collaborate with librarians on media literacy and curriculum support
Collaborate with Lower School STEM Teacher to integrate experiences across the curriculum
Teach students typing, programming, robotics, and digital literacy lessons
Required Skills:

Device knowledge of iPad, Chromebook and Mac.
Formal or informal teaching experience with students in K-4th grades
Familiarity with concepts such as technology integration, flipped classroom, PBL and responsive classroom.
Working knowledge of Google Apps for Education
There is one bi-weekly Division Meeting, and monthly grade level meetings depending on schedule. This position reports to the Director of Educational Technology.

Students at Town learn digital literacy through a K-8 curriculum that is integrated into classes. The lessons are developed and taught by teachers and members of the Ed Tech team, which includes a technology and design teacher as well as the library staff. Additionally, we are hoping to continue to offer programming and maker/tinker lessons, as well as develop new lessons, and this position would be instrumental in that effort.

Current Technology Initiatives at Town: integration of technology in the classroom; developing framework for improved approach to teaching the STEM curriculum; designing and developing innovation/tinkering/maker lab; integrating of curriculum with innovation/tinkering/maker’s lab; researching and developing plan for teaching programming, robotics, engineering, app development and game development; working with students, faculty, and administrators to increase interest in computer science and engineering both within and outside the curriculum; increasing collaboration between technology and library.
