Engineering and Design Teacher
This course is will focus on integrating mathematic and scientific topics into the Engineering Design Process (EDP). Areas of focus may include aerodynamics, principles of rocketry, pneumatics, buoyancy, fluid mechanics, and construction techniques. Focus will be placed on analysis of real world situations, designing and testing prototypes for those situations, and designing/testing a final design. Students will begin with analyzing current engineering concepts and advance to an open-ended research and design project.
The EDP is defined as follows: identify a real-life problem, research the problem, develop multiple solutions to the problem, evaluate the best solution, construct a prototype, test the prototype, communicate the solution, redesign as necessary, and finalize the solution. Collaboration is a fundamental part of this process.
Requirements:
- The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong personal Christian commitment, as well as a commitment to Christian education, by demonstrating a passion for the students, the subject matter, and Jesus Christ.
- Bachelor’s Degree in subject area required, Valid Teaching Certificate preferred
- High School Teaching Experience preferred
- Computer Skills- Microsoft Word and Power Point Proficient, comfortable with online gradebook

Teachers actively instruct students; create lesson plans; assign and correct homework; manage students in the classroom; communicate with parents; help students before and after school as needed; provide timely and appropriate lesson plans; post weekly homework assignments and student grades in timely manner.
