Enterprise Security Manager
The Office of Information Security (OIS) invites applications for an Enterprise Security Manager to lead a cross functional team of security professionals. Primary duties for this position includes providing leadership for a team that performs network/system threat detection and analysis, incident response, as well as vulnerability detection and mitigation. This position oversees development and maintenance of OIS systems and infrastructure. This position is also responsible for anticipating and planning for future training and resource needs that ensure team efforts are performed in an efficient, effective, and agile manner. Additional duties include participation in university wide projects and committees, consulting with university stakeholders, project management of OIS initiatives, and participation in OIS budget and operational planning activities. Required qualifications include a proven information security background, strong understanding of computer networking, system administration, and team management. This includes a demonstrated background with intrusion detection techniques, technologies, and mitigation strategies. The successful candidate must possess a strong understanding of incident response planning, preparation, and coordination. They must also have strong understanding of Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems. Preferred qualifications include experience with intrusion detection technologies, such as Snort, Suricata, BRO, or other open source technologies. Experience with implementing and using SIEM technologies and security event correlation tools are also preferred. Experience managing security analysts in a SOC environment is a plus. Relevant security certifications such as GIAC, CISSP, CISM, or ISACA are preferred. This position also requires the successful candidate to maintain a level of discretion and confidentiality with sensitive matters. The successful candidate will possess professionalism, flexibility and self-management skills. Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide leadership in the assigned areas. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are a must. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
