Immaculata University, founded in 1920 by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, is a Catholic, coeducational institution of higher learning, located on the Main Line between Malvern and Exton, 20 miles west of Philadelphia. The University offers fifty-three undergraduate majors, seven master degree programs, three doctoral degree programs, and over forty additional certification programs, including a selection of accelerated and online programs. Immaculata employs over 330 faculty and staff, who together with the Sisters serve approximately 2,500 students.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance & Administration, the Executive Director will provide leadership and vision for the strategic utilization of information technology across all areas of the University.  The Executive Director is responsible for system-wide planning, management, security, compliance and coordination of the University's technology resources including Administrative Technology Services, Academic Support Services, Enterprise Resource Planning & Project Management, and Technical Services.

The Executive Director supervises information technology employees and is responsible for budget preparation and management; compliance, collaboration with departments in making recommendations for technical acquisitions; develop guidelines, standards and procedures for information technology infrastructure including all hardware and software, owned, or leased, including multiple operating systems, and data communications.

The successful candidate must be a strategist and tactician who is able to develop and drive an agenda from concept to reality, is focused on customer service and quality, and generates results and organizational improvement through best practices and communication.  In addition, will provide hands-on oversight, planning and management of all aspects of information technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the University's executive team, Deans, internal constituent groups, vendors to further the vision and mission as it responds to the changing technological needs of the entire IU community.

  • Leading and actively participating with technical team members in developing solutions, debugging and troubleshooting issues, maintaining system performance, upgrades and configurations, ensuring a seamless process for end users.

  • Devising, writing, establishing, monitoring and enforcing IT policies and procedures to protect data and systems.

  • Developing and implementing innovative and cost effective technology initiatives and programs.

  • Reviewing and providing analysis, coordination, and approval of computer-related purchases and ensuring all new applications and technologies are compatible with existing systems and are appropriately integrated into the University's enterprise architecture.

  • Assessing and developing the skills, abilities, and expertise of staff to build a positive service-oriented culture with excellent outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Significant technical competence, having progressed through roles of increasing responsibility managing technology.

  • Broad range of relevant information technology experience in providing leadership in technical areas such as hardware, software, applications, data and system security, cloud computing, multi-media applications, e-learning tools, as well as experience working with industry best practices.

  • Strong understanding of and experience with administrative/ERP systems, with a preference for experience managing Ellucian's Banner system.

  • Strong knowledge of data center operations, servers, storage devices, networking systems and cloud computing.

  • Thorough understanding of network and data security practices, policies, and controls.

  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of software and other technologies used to effectively deliver and manage information technology.

  • Ability to prioritize in a dynamic work environment and translate complex topics for non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field, Master's preferred.

  • At least eight years of technical computing experience and at least five years of progressively responsible administrative management experience.

  • Knowledge of network planning and administration of Microsoft Active Directory, MCSE VMWare, Cisco routers, switches, and access points, classroom technology, content management systems, and telecommunications.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Office 365, SharePoint, SQL, and Windows server;

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship and team building skills.

  • Must have integrity, a strong drive and motivation to succeed, high level of energy, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Knowledge of network planning and administration of Microsoft Active Directory, VMWare, Cisco routers, switches, and access points, classroom technology, content management systems, and telecommunications.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Office 365, SharePoint, SQL, and Windows server OSes.

  • Knowledge of IT security tools and technologies, telephone systems, web-based service delivery.

  • Computing service administration including management of problem identification and resolution, supervision of technical staff and quality improvement processes.
