Head of Technology and Innovation
Dwight School has a position available for a Head of Technology and Innovation. The Head of Technology and Innovation is responsible for the direction, coordination, integration and implementation of educational technology across Dwight School. He or she will evaluate the use of new technological initiatives and solutions to support the use of technology in education and foster a culture of innovation.
Responsibilities of the Position:
• Supervise instructional technology and library services faculty while working closely with the Director of Information Technology and IT Support Staff
• Liaise with heads and technology coordinators of other Dwight Schools to ensure that innovation is coordinated between schools and in line with Dwight’s three pillars and motto
• Coordinate school-wide innovation initiatives and partnerships with outside organizations and manages their implementation
• Work with Head of School, Director of Information Technology and Division Heads on the planning and implementation of school-wide and division-level technology initiatives and innovation
• Develop and deliver internal technology professional development to faculty
• Develop and deliver parent workshops on school technology initiatives and general technology trends
• Chair Innovation Committee/Technology Committee, a group of teachers tasked with the research and development of new instructional technologies and practices
• Conduct research and development for the planning and implementation of technology initiatives such as 1:1 computing, iPads, virtualization, etc.
• Develop learning platforms for Dwight online initiatives
• Work with academic and administrative department heads to deliver departmental technology training and development
• Co-Develop/supervise a Student Technology Leadership Committee
• Provide general support for faculty/staff, students, parents
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in an academic discipline, Master’s Degree in educational technology preferred
· Experience with International Baccalaureate curriculum preferred
· Hands-on knowledge of implementing technology solutions in a PreK-12 environment
· Ability to work with administrators and teachers of various disciplines on technology-focused solutions
· Experience in fostering innovation amongst academic communities
