High School Computer Science Teacher

CGPS seeks an outstanding, student-focused Computer Science Teacher who will help develop an expanding technology curriculum. This person will be responsible for teaching Computer Science and Robotics at the high school level as well as advanced electives in areas such as Mobile Programming, Game Design, and AP Computer Science.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and teach Computer Science, Robotics and other technology courses at the high school level.
• Provide faculty, students, and staff with guidance on using educational technology.
• Collaborate with faculty in other departments to explore opportunities for interdisciplinary projects.

Desired Skills and Interests

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity or interest in some or all of the following: Object-Oriented Programming, Processing, p5.js, Java, Python, Javascript, AP Computer Science, Vex Robotics, Arduino or other hardware platforms.
• Experience teaching in a classroom setting.
• Passionate about encouraging young people to take on complex and challenging ideas.
• An intellectual curiosity, an aptitude for learning, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• A demonstrated ability to innovate, problem solve and create original curriculum.
• Experience with troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues relevant to classroom technology and STEM education
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills and a desire to work with a team.
