iLab Support & Technology Incubator

`Iolani School is seeking an an ilab specialist to maintain new and growing innovative facilities within the

Sullivan Center at ‘Iolani School in conjunction with supporting new residential programs aimed

at furthering STEM education within their boarding experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sullivan Innovation After Hours Program:

• Creating an open space available for extended hours for students to work on projects.
• Create auxiliary opportunities for incoming boarding students within the Sullivan Center iLab.
• Monitor student attendance and expectations with the office of Residential Life.

• iLab Specialist:

• Maintaining lab equipment and machines
• Restocking materials and consumables
• Maintaining a safe environment with students and faculty
• Managing tool organisation and use
• Manage machine time and scheduling
• Working with students and faculty to carry out fabrication of projects

• Alternative Day/Hours (Tues-Sat: 12pm-8pm or similar)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Display highly effective communication skills geared to various age groups
• Able to work well collaboratively and independently
• Experience creating curriculum preferred
• Desire to push boundaries and explore new fabrication methods and technologies

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Arts, Industrial Design or related field required
• 2+ years experience with machining and fabrication
• 2+ years experience working with students of various age groups

Salary:

Contingent upon work experience.
