Senior Technical Writer / Business Analyst: Assist the Technology Development and Transfer Program at Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS) with its efforts to cultivate, develop, and promote its program to both internal and external audiences through enhancing multiple approaches to messaging to internal and external stakeholders. Information Specialist will work closely with engineers, scientists, and managers to analyze and document technology narratives and road-maps in support of the research and development efforts of CNS, including creating, assimilating, and conveying technical matter in a concise and effective manner. A portion of the effort will encourage developing innovative approaches and techniques to convey information that will include developing technology narratives as well as white papers, abstracts, fact sheets, posters, infographics and other requested media. Information Specialist will also support the development of commercialization strategies for selected technologies, and will support the CNS Commercialization Program Manager in executing those strategies. Lastly, the Information Specialist will assist in developing and maintaining a detailed strategy to identify and incorporate industry and academic partners in support of the technology development needs at CNS. 

Job Functions/Responsibilities:

 

1. Technology Development Information Management (60%) 

 • Create Plant Directed Research and Development Narratives 

      -Annual/Quarterly Program and Project Reports 

      -Project Fact Sheets/Abstracts 

      - Research Posters 

 • Develop Technology Transfer Narratives 

      -Full Invention Disclosures 

      -Technology Fact Sheets 

      -Technology Posters/Media 

      -Technology Commercialization Portfolio 

• Technology Development and Transfer website development and management.

 

2. Technology Transfer Strategies (30%) 

• Develop and execute technology commercialization strategies. 

• Identify and cultivate potential Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) and technology maturation opportunities.

 

3. Industry & Academic Collaboration Strategies (10%) 

• Identify, develop, and maintain potential industry partners for collaborative research and development and technology transfer opportunities. 

• Identify, develop, and maintain potential academic partners for collaborative research and development opportunities.  

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have at least 2 years of experience with developing information for the technical and non-technical audience, to include written and verbal communication.

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.

Master's degree preferred, preferably in Communications/Information or MBA in marketing/entrepreneurship.
