Information Technology Educator and Co-ordinator

Woodlands International College is a progressive, co-educational, independent, non-denominational College based on Christian values. It is situated on a pristine wetland on the northern boundary of Boksburg. This peaceful location, with its spacious grounds, provides the ideal environment for an educational institution of this nature.

We need to appoint a Full-Time Junior College (Preparatory School, GRADE 1-6) Information Technology Educator with the following minimum requirements and proficiencies:

• Appropriate teaching qualification and current IT certification;

• Current SACE registration;

• Proficiency in the English language of instruction;

• At least five years’ experience in teaching IT or computers in a Preparatory School environment;

• Ability to integrate iPads fully into the classroom (Woodlands uses iPads from grade 4 with accompanying ITSI textbooks);

• Teach all Gr 1- 6 children Knowledge Network lessons;

• Teach Grade 4, 5 and 6 Coding;

• Develop a coding and robotics club, therefore the educator would need to be very experienced in the Robotics and Coding Space;

• Highly proficient IT skills, including Google Docs, Google Classroom, Microsoft Office;

• Be able to use various electronic media in the classroom (smartboards, digital projectors etc.) and assist other teachers;

• Passion as an educator;

• Self-motivated, organised and energetic;

• Be empathetic and inspire respect;

• Display excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
