Information Technology Product Team Lead
The IT Product Lead will work as a part of the Academic Application Development team supporting the University’s enterprise academic applications. These applications support teaching and learning for NYU’s 60,000 students and 9,000 faculty members, across three campuses (New York City, Shanghai, and Abu Dhabi). The Product Specialist will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality user experience for enterprise academic applications. The incumbent will advise and consult with NYU leaders, faculty, staff, and students to inform the development of enterprise applications through leading requirements gathering sessions, designing and overseeing usability testing, and leading focus groups with faculty, students, and staff. The incumbent will (1) manage the work of NYU IT developers and external vendors in the development of new functionality and user experience (UX) enhancements; (2) oversee experience testing (3) act as a product subject matter expert (SME) within Provost-sponsored governance committees; and (4) lead a team in the day-to-day support of our academic services, which include WordPress, Kaltura video streaming service, Sakai (Learning Management System), Atlassian Confluence, as well as other web applications.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in STEM field or equivalent experience
Preferred Education:

Required Experience:
5+ years experience as a product expert for user-facing application services. Experience with UX testing and Agile software development methodologies. Experience prioritizing and managing the work of software developers.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with the following: WordPress, Kaltura video streaming service, Sakai (Learning Management System), Atlassian Confluence and JIRA. Experience working in an academic environment.
