Information Technology Specialist
Summary of Duties |
The Information Technology Specialist 2 has primary responsibility for providing customer service in support of the student information modules in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions under general supervision. Incumbent will grow their knowledge of student processes and requirements to determine, recommend and implement appropriate course of action and oversee implementation and resolution of problems; develop, test, and document software in order to implement and maintain an operational system; design and develop effective reporting tools needed to support the university student service offices at all five campuses and in various academic and administrative departments; will participate in cross-modular problem solving and issue resolution; provide communication and training to end users. Follows established work methods and procedures to complete tasks on PeopleSoft software applications, support products, or pieces of larger systems or programs and authorize security requests. Performs tasks such as consulting with customers to identify and analyze technology problems and needs; responding to and resolving trouble reports from users; building and updating system tables and configurations; analyzing problems for parts of applications and solving problems with some assistance; supporting and enhancing existing applications in compliance with specifications and standards; conducting unit, system or usability testing; writing specifications and developing reports; developing and conducting system training for users; or serving as part of a problem solving team addressing more complex issues. |
