General Summary

To provide Enrollment Management and Academic Services personnel and other supported clients with technical support, including but not limited to: setup and operation of their computer and other peripheral equipment, technical support and coordination of problem resolution with other technology support staff and supervisor, creating and updating documentation, performing basic maintenance on various systems, maintaining departmental servers, assisting in procurement and disposal of equipment, assisting with disaster recovery and business continuation activities, and researching and learning new technologies.  

To assist clients with creation, maintenance, and updating of some departmental web sites and web forms.

Required Qualifications

1. High School Graduation or equivalent. 

2. Any combination totaling one year from the following categories: 
a.) Progressively more responsible work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession; OR 
b.) College course work which included Information Technology (IT), or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: 60 semester hours or Associate's Degree equals one year. 

3. Ability to isolate computer and network problems and to verbalize needs to supervisor. 

4. Ability to identify and resolve hardware problems including the replacement of hardware components as needed. 

5. Working knowledge of application software, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook) as well as knowledge of Windows Operating System (XP and higher). 

6. Ability to work in a team environment. 

7. Good oral and written communication skills. 

8. Ability to act independently. 

9. Positive attitude and good work ethic. 

10. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.  

 

Desired Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree. 
2. 1 - 2 years of progressive work experience in an IT support field
