Opportunity starting August 2025. Alta Vista seeks a dynamic Innovation and Computer Science Teacher.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000

The Position: Innovation and Computer Science Teacher

  • Design and teach Middle School Computer Science classes 
  • Provide technology and innovation curriculum integration support JK-8

  • Possess a passion for Computer Science with the ability to spark student motivation and love of learning

  • Work with Lower School (JK-5) students and faculty to integrate technology and computer science.

  • Serve as an advisor to a group of middle school students

  • Lead an after-school robotics club at both divisions

  • Design and support Middle School Engineering Challenges

  • Work cooperatively and collegially with the school’s administration, the faculty and staff, and the parents to create and maintain an exemplary school environment

  • Engage in professional development and teacher growth opportunities.

  • Cultivate collaboration, transparency, inclusion, curiosity, fun, innovation, and excellence in a dynamic learning community

  • Conduct dynamic and flexible instruction to address a variety of learning styles and interests

  • Evaluate and give feedback on student progress regularly using standards-based assessment

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree; Master’s degree preferred 

  • Knowledge of and Experience teaching Computer Science at the middle or secondary school level

  • Familiarity with teaching in independent schools preferred
