Innovation Lab Assistant/Intern

Summary
King School is searching for a part-time assistant for its Upper School Innovation Lab, a place where students can create, discover, design, and build. The ideal candidate is: proficient in fabricating objects using a variety of software and equipment; has exceptional organizational skills; has experience in working with and teaching adolescents (https://www.kingschoolct.org/academics/stem/innovation-lab).
Responsibilities and Primary Duties

Help the Director of the Innovation Lab supervise students working during open lab hours.

Assist the Director in training individual students on equipment use.

Facilitate troubleshooting with students as they encounter obstacles in the building process.

Keep the lab organized.
Skills and Requirements
Experience with the following equipment or software (or similar):

3D Printers: Ultimaker models 2 and 3; Lulzbot Taz6; Formlabs Resin printer

Husqvarna Topaz sewing and embroidery machine

HTC Vive VR system

PC and Mac platforms: Illustrator/Photohop; Cura; V-Carve; 3D Modeling; Unity, Blender

Other Qualifications/Skills:

Completed or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Experience with: Robotics, coding, design or engineering (preferred)

Knowledge of lab safety and best practices for hazardous materials.

An affinity for students - particularly Middle and Upper School students and a sense of humor are required.

First aid and CPR Certification (school will provide training)
