Innovation Lab Specialist

Job Classification: 2 month family leave substitute/ end of April – June 18
SCHOOL AND POSITION SUMMARY:
Maimonides Academy is a leading independent day school servicing over 650 children in preschool through grade 8. The campus is conveniently located on the boarder of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. The Innovation Lab specialist is responsible for working with the technology team, classroom teachers, and the administration to provided additive technology to the general curriculum. The Innovation lab specialist is also responsible for maintaining and supporting the open Maker Space and the Innovation Lab specific curriculum.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and teach a technology skills programs relating to the needs of students and aligned with the school’s curriculum (class groups, small groups and one to one settings).

Develop curriculum and unit plans, teaching weekly classes and writing progress reports on student performance each trimester.

Implement the technology curriculum and establish emerging curriculum in areas such as animation, video-editing, and media production.

Provide authentic, differentiated learning experiences that build on essential academic skills for each student.

Work with the technology teacher to recommend and implement appropriate technology resources for students, faculty, and staff.

Collaborate with, support, and instruct teachers in coordinating the integration of technology applications and tools across the curriculum.

Assist in identifying specific educational hardware/software application strategies.

Supervise students in a variety of settings including but not limited to classroom, transitions, lunch, recess, after school and summer programs as assigned.

Actively participate in school functions such as community events and activities, service days, seminars, meetings and training sessions.

Support and assist in organizing school functions, such as STEM night, Science Fair, Middle School overnight camps, and others.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree
-
Experience in Educational Technology or related field.

Experience in an elementary/middle school setting.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong technical writing skills.

Strong organizational, management, and goal-setting skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Experience in collaborative planning and team teaching.

Experience in developing and writing curriculum, knowledge of current trends and research in learning and assessment.

Ability to work closely with a wide range of people; including diverse students, faculty, and staff.

Desire and ability to work with children with learning differences
