Job Description Summary |
The Instruction and Research Librarian, STEM, is responsible for providing specialized information, research resources and instruction to all students (on-campus and online) with a major focus on those involved in the STEM studies and the College of Nursing by incorporating information literacy concepts, creating authentic library learning experiences (physical and online), and working with the university’s faculty and staff to articulate the Library’s impact on student success. |

Responsibilities |
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University’s Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
Assist in special projects and/or activities. In the continued effort to provide uniform services to all members of the Lewis University Community, Librarian positions will require some, or all of the following job duties (as assigned by the Library Administration):

Minimum Qualifications |
One to three years of academic library experience. Recent graduates with an MLS/MLIS from ALA-accredited institution will also be considered. Intimate knowledge of existing resources and current trends in programs involving STEM(Biological and Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Technology) Aviation and health sciences areas of study. Strong interest in working with students, faculty and staff. Commitment to creating and providing user-centered library services, specifically regarding library instruction services. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively to promote teamwork, diversity, equality and inclusiveness in support of the Lewis University Mission. Ability to demonstrate flexibility to adapt to new technologies and change. Computer application knowledge and experience, a demonstrated high level of proficiency in various computer operating systems, the MSOffice Suite, assessment tools, etc. Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Second Master’s degree in any of the following fields: STEM (Biological and Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Technology, etc.) or Aviation or health sciences areas of study. Experience with library assessment in an academic environment. Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment. Able to research emerging technologies for deployment of library services. Must be able to take initiative and see projects through independently. Ability to demonstrate flexibility to adapt to new technologies and change. |
