Instructional Technologist
Office/Department: Office of Graduate and Online Education
Description: This position will be responsible for consulting with faculty to build and produce high quality online courses which have a direct and visible impact on the quality of instruction, services, and image of the college. This includes recommending media and tools, advising on multimedia production issues, and developing, and delivering technical training to faculty in the use of tools for conducting online learning classes.
Requirements: This position requires a Master’s degree in a related field, extensive experience with software relevant to the online learning environment, and three to five years’ experience developing and maintaining an online learning platform in a higher education setting.
Requires the ability to understand the principles and practices of instructional design, current computer creative and production software application, and teaching pedagogy and to translate content into multimedia products in formats including but not limited to video, audio, graphics, digital animations, and HTML.
Must be able and willing to research and respond quickly to constantly changing technology ensuring the College remains competitive. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability work patiently with faculty, staff, and students providing guidance and explanations that ensure understanding and success. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and projects and make sensible decisions during periods of multiple demands on time and attention.
