Instructional Technology Consultant
The ECU College of Nursing (ECU CON) is recruiting for an instructional technology consultant. The person in this position will help design, plan, and support the technology associated with classroom and DE nursing curricula, and the technology associated with programs, activities, and business functions related to the college's mission. Writing technical documentation and developing narrative for website content and special projects will be a responsibility for this position.
The person in this position will work collaboratively with the existing technology support team to provide comprehensive technical support to CON faculty, staff, and students.
This position reports to the ECU CON IT Director.
The responsibilities of this position include:
New technology projects, with a focus on writing and multimedia development: (35%)
Contribute expertise and guidance for technology projects with the CON.
Design, plan, coordinate, and manage technology projects.
Support existing technologies projects and equipment: (35%)
Participate with members of the CON technology team in testing, deploying, and configuring hardware and software employed in support of the college's mission.
Participate with members of the CON technology team in supporting faculty and staff technology deployment in activities related the college's mission.
Provide support for the college's Virtual Clinic (VC), including but not limited to:
Support for instructors and students using and working with the VC.
Develop instructional materials and documentation for "best practices" utilization and deployment of the VC.
Work with nursing tech team developers and outside vendors to further develop custom components of the VC for future needs.
Provide technical content for grant proposals, reports, presentations, and articles related to the VC .
Collaborate tech team members to consult with nursing faculty and staff in establishing technology best practice standards and processes: (30%)
Evaluate hardware/software equipment and systems related to the college's mission.
Research new technologies in relation to online course delivery, multimedia format and delivery, and special projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technical Writing, or related discipline from an accredited institution and two years of experience in a technology related field, or Associates degree in Computer Science, Technical writing or related discipline with 5 years of experience in a technology related field.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master's Degree from a college or university in Computer Science, Technical Writing, or related discipline. 5 years of experience in a technology related field, which will include a writing component. Experience with some of the following technologies: HTML, CSS, XML, Final Cut, and Adobe Premiere.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate correct and coherent communication skills, particularly in writing
