The Instructional Technology Consultant reports to the Senior Director of Online Development and Support. The Instructional Technology Consultant works within the Division to create media for the Division’s course development and marketing groups. The incumbent should be capable of both directing and producing elements of online courses and media resources for online learners and ensure best practices are followed for all online courses in the development queue. The Instructional Technology Consultant will help create and develop online courses with dynamic visual and graphic identity by developing, managing, and supporting video and audio needs for online classes. The Instructional Technology Consultant will assist the Assistant Director to coordinate the setup of video shoots and audio recordings as well as the capturing, editing, and digitizing of audio and video for online classes. The Instructional Technology Consultant will utilize the Division’s system for archiving raw and edited video footage. The ITC under the direction of the Senior Director of Online Development and Support, is responsible for facilitating audio, video, and multimedia development, delivery and support for graduate, undergraduate and non-credit online distance learning courses targeted specifically to off-campus students. Principal responsibilities include collaborating with UNCG academic department faculty and instructional technology staff in developing Web courses and interfacing with campus units that support distance education. The ITC will also supervise multimedia support positions that assist in developing multimedia elements for online courses as well as all Division websites.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in a directly related fied is required. Familiarity of videography, video recording equipment (e.g., video cameras such as the Panasonic AJ-PX270, the AF-100 HD, and the Canon 5D and 7D cameras, wireless and shotgun microphones, et cetera), script writing, directing (narrative and documentary), video editing and compositing software (Adobe Premiere and After Effects) are essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Google suite of apps, familiarity with course management systems (e.g., Canvas), and the ability to work independently and as part of a team and to work well with clients is beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a directly related field is preferred. Three years work experience in a related field is preferred. Experience with creative video recording techniques (e.g., aesthetics, exposure, and composition), audio production, post production, preparing video for the Web (including knowledge of digital compression and streaming technologies), and a background in film and video cinematography are preferred.
