Instructional Technology Manager
Job Summary:
The Instructional Technology Manager for Harvard Law School is responsible for instructional technologies and services that support mission-critical school processes, including the successful deployment of degree and non-degree program course sites for on-premise, on-line and hybrid classes. This position leads the school’s instructional technology efforts including planning, design, implementation, support/maintenance, evaluation and innovation.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:

Supports integration efforts, troubleshooting, incident resolution, vendor management, and software configuration to address customization, branding, accessibility, and visual identity requirements.

Provides strategic decision support for the selection and implementation of new and innovative technologies.

Establishes, measures and reports on performance indicators related to instructional technology.

Hires, manages, trains, and mentors staff dedicated to instructional technology services.

Serves as the subject matter expert for learning management systems and similar enterprise systems supported by HLS.

Works closely with faculty to design, develop and implement engaging online material and assessment tools to enhance the teaching and learning experiences.

Delivers formal and ad-hoc training and tutorials on educational technologies for the HLS community, while continuing the ongoing development of training curricula.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years demonstrated experience in Instructional Technology or similar role. Advanced degree may count toward experience.

Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods
Technology:

Proficiency with Blackboard, Canvas, Camtasia, Captivate, Moodle or proprietary LMS

Expertise in website design and video editing technology

Experience working with Confluence, Panopto, Poll Everywhere, Qualtrics and Kaltura.

Experience with data visualizations, producing animations/simulations and programming languages (e.g. JavaScript)
