Instructional Technology Specialist
Serve as an instructional technology partner to enhance and improve the overall curriculum and instructional program through the implementation of an ongoing technology integration, curriculum and professional development program designed to improve the effective use of technology in SSISD by students and staff. Facilitate effective use of the one to one device initiative.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree
Valid Texas teaching certificate
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Knowledge of best practices in curriculum, assessment, instruction and instructional technology
Experience using technology to improve teaching and learning
Knowledge of effective design and presentation strategies for professional learning
Ability to enhance instruction by integrating technology into all subjects and grade levels of the curriculum
Knowledge of variety of instructional strategies
Ability to perform in Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook
Experience using interactive boards, student response systems, video conference systems, iPads and appropriate applications
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience
Instructional Technology support role (preferred, not required)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Curriculum/Research:
- Collaborate with the curriculum, professional learning, other administrative departments and campuses in the use of technology to improve student learning
- Work collaboratively to plan and conduct appropriate training to support educational technology resources
- Serve on assigned district committees and participate in the planning and evaluation process using established district criteria
- Participate in professional development opportunities to keep current with emerging technologies to develop and maintain expertise
- Maintain membership in professional organizations as well as attend and present at conferences and training workshops
- Work in collaboration with district and campus staff to develop a district implementation plan for department initiatives
- Provide opportunities for collaboration and communication between the Curriculum & Instruction and the Technology Departments
- Assist in developing instructional processes to ensure that technology integration activities are related to program outcomes
- Work with the district technology team to implement the one to one program on each campus
- Initiate programs supporting best practices for the 21st Century Classroom
- Demonstrate teaching strategies with students in the classroom that integrates technology Technical/Training:
- Provide effective educational technology practices through mentoring, training, planning and professional growth opportunities
- Report any vandalism, illegal use of hardware or software, or missing technology equipmentSchool/Organization Climate:
