Instructional Technology Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Technology, the Instructional Technology Specialist promotes the effective use of technologies to support teaching and learning in the preK-12 classroom. He/She provides leadership, professional development and instructional support for CISD teachers and staff. The Instructional Technology Specialist collaborates with appropriate instructional and technical staff to manage, support, and optimize the use of technology resources to support quality teaching and learning. This professional works well independently and collaboratively with colleagues.

Education/Certification:

Current Texas Teaching Certificate

Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Special Knowledge/Skills:
-
Ability to create resources and provide technology training for students, teachers, and staff

Demonstrate knowledge of the TA TEKS, district curriculum, instructional strategies and technology resources

Basic technology troubleshooting skills

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to communicate professionally in both verbal and written formats

Ability to model appropriate use of technology

Proven collaboration and leadership skills

Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work independently
Experience:
-
Three years’ experience as a classroom teacher

Two years’ work experience in an Educational Technology/training role (preferred)
SALARY FROM:
$59,001
*Salary will be prorated according to number of days worked
