Supports student learning through facilitating the integration of technology into curriculum and instruction. Provides services to Kamehameha Schools’ K-12 campuses, Community-Based Early Childhood Education (CBECE) and Extension Education Division (EED). Provides support to the faculty, instructional staff and administration on integrating technology in the curriculum; consults on the design, specification and request for appropriate technology tools, conducts appropriate one-on-one, small and large group professional development training; coordinates ETS-initiatives with faculty, administrators and ETS personnel as required. Attends grade level/team/department meetings to assist faculty with integration of technology into the curriculum. Develops and implements a wide range of professional development solutions for faculty and learning modules for students, as well as administers evaluations to assess effectiveness of content and delivery. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Instructional Support:
- Provides consultation and support to faculty for the integration of technology in curriculum.
- Facilitates collaboration with faculty and administrators to develop strategies for effective and appropriate integration of relevant technologies into the curriculum.
- Takes a leadership role in the development of learning opportunities that help integrate technology into curriculum areas at the school and system levels.
- Provides training to faculty in the use of current technology to meet curriculum and instructional goals and objectives.
- Provides assistance on first-level technical questions, instructional applications and software.
- Provides training to faculty and educational support staff in basic technology and 21st century competencies aligned with National Education Technology Standards (NETS).
- Identifies and provides faculty with appropriate support and instruction which may include different learning modalities and styles including one-to-one, small group, modeling, coaching and mentoring in an environment conducive to achieving instructional learning objectives.
- Collaborates with teachers to identify and develop technology- integrated projects that broaden and enhance students’ learning experiences and enrich their understanding.
- Advocates the use of relevant technologies to enhance teaching and learning by recommending and incorporating best practice technology integration strategies that enhance learning; stays abreast of rapidly changing technology and current trends to pique teachers’ and learners’ interests and communicates with faculty of current research findings and trends in technology integration.
- Provides analysis of growth and effectiveness of faculty application of technology. Benchmarks with technology standards to insure KS standards meet or exceed national levels. Modifies support and scaffolds instruction based on findings.
Instructional Professional Development:
- Plans, develops, coordinates and provides appropriate professional development opportunities for faculty in instructional technology integration strategies consistent with institutional and national instructional technology standards, best practices and in alignment with the schools’ curricular goals and objectives.
- Designs, coordinates and implements incentive programs (B credit courses, college credits, trips to conferences, etc.) for teachers to increase knowledge and expand understanding in content area.
- Develops methods for disseminating notice of training opportunities to teachers. Analyzes teacher technology proficiencies to determine immediate and long-term training needs.
- Determines appropriate training content and strategies; designs and implements lesson plans, materials and online resources to be used in individual, small and large group workshops.
- Develops and implements a wide range of professional development solutions for faculty and learning modules for students.
Professional Research:
- Maintains current knowledge of technology and instructional best practices that relate to the use of technology. Researches current and emerging technologies to determine applicability in a differentiated learning environment. Actively participates in the planning and implementation of a technology conference to keep educators up-to-date on relevant instructional technology solutions.
- In collaboration with ETS-I team, ITD personnel and school administrators, researches, reviews, and recommends the selection and acquisition of online subscriptions and resources, software and hardware that effectively support the curriculum and goals for student achievement.
Programs:
- Understands and supports Kamehameha Schools’ education programs and support services functions by ensuring alignment and service delivery priority.
- Follows ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional organizations and/or federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.

Position Requirements |
- 3 - 5 years of related work experience, including some classroom teaching experience and technology integration experiences.
- Strong foundation in pedagogy and teaching methodologies.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
- Ability to design and develop curriculum integration training for faculty and ability to evaluate and recommend technology to effectively meet goals and objectives.
- Ability to work independently and foster positive interpersonal relationships with faculty, staff and administrators.
- Immersed in a teaching/learning environment that effectively models integration of technology and facilitates conversations between subject matter experts and teachers to design and produce authentic products and services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare recommendations for management, staff and external audiences.
- Working knowledge of Macintosh and PC systems, peripherals, and software applications.
- Working knowledge of the Internet/Intranet and video technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Education or Education/Instructional Technology.
- Classroom teaching experience that includes the effective use and integration of technology in the curriculum.
- Experience facilitating professional development in an educational setting.
- Ability to author, publish and manage online sites
- Ability to work with technology vendors and contractors.
- Experience working with and coordinating vendors and consultants who provide computer troubleshooting, instructional software and training support.
