Position Summary Information

 

Primary Purpose

• Sustain teaching performance at appropriate levels to include course loads, instructional technology, instructional materials and innovative communication delivery in the information technology disciplines.
• Perform record keeping and data collection functions in the areas of attendance, student performance, program performance and assessment in an accurate and timely manner.
• Student advisement in the areas of academic planning and learning support.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Maintain accreditation and credentials and mastery/currency to teach in specific subject areas such as information systems, web technologies, programming, database management, networking & security with a specialty in either support services, networking, web administration, or programming.
• Market, recruit and retain students in respective computer Information Technology programs and pathways
• Collaborate with college, high school and university partners to create and maintain seamless transitions for students
• Ensure compliance and confidentiality with all policies and procedures of the College, NC Community College System, and applicable State and Federal agencies

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in a wide variety of extra-curricula committee and campus support functions, to include: scholarships, grants, campus marketing, accreditation, inter-institutional and system cooperative programs
• Program planning and support of Institutional Effectiveness Plan/Program Assessment Plan
• Manage budget and curriculum scheduling for the program.
• Support program by developing and maintaining an advisory board
• Serve on college-wide committees as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education

Masters Degree from Accredited four year institution with a concentration in Computer Information Technology or closely related field. (Instructor will have 18 hours of Computer Information Technology related course work at the Masters level.)

Experience

All persons must provide verifiable and relevant professional experience in a work-place setting or demonstrated instructional/teaching environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess strong personal and professional integrity, good verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, database systems, College email and website, and other computer applications associated with the position.

Physical Demands

The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
