POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an energetic, personable, positive, and detail-oriented professional to join our team as the IT Desktop Support Specialist at Chadwick School. Chadwick is a place where genuine care for students and employees is core to who we are so a willingness to work in a close team atmosphere is crucial. This position requires day to day interactions with members of the community to support many of their technology needs. Someone who is an efficient and effective problem solver and can perform the duties listed below would be ideal for this position.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Desktop/Hardware Support
  • Primary PC/Windows administrator (including remote management, updates, antivirus)
  • Primary printer/copier technician (including procurement, setup, vendor management)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues with technology including:
    • School Devices (Mac/PC laptops/desktops, iPads, Chromebooks, etc.)
    • A/V (projectors, audio systems)
    • Printers and Copiers
    • Phone System
    • Basic networking

Provide technical support to faculty, staff, students, parents.

  • Resolve support requests via support ticket, email, phone, and in-person.
  • Run the device check-in and check-out process for faculty, staff, students.

Systems Support

  • Support the Applications and Systems Administrator to resolve application/system-related support requests.
  • Provide account login assistance (including password resets)
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for the various systems used at the school.

IT Asset Procurement

  • Manage annual and ongoing hardware, software, and IT supply purchases.
  • Maintain vendor relationships.

Event Setup and Support

  • Set up IT portion for requested events.
  • Provide at-event assistance as needed/requested.
  • Video Conferencing, Livestream, A/V Recording support, including configuration and testing.
  • Note: Events/setup may take place outside of standard hours and/or potentially offsite

Inventory Management

  • Organization and upkeep of physical IT storage spaces
  • Maintenance and auditing of digital IT assets
  • Manage E-waste process.

Project Management

  • Coordinate with the Testing Coordinator on annual standardized test technical setups.
  • Facilitate the completion of departmental or organizational projects as needed.

 

Education, experience, and skill requirements

  • Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in information technology, computer science/engineering, or a related field
  • Experienced and proficient in: Windows OS, Mac OS, iOS, Chromebooks, enterprise network, WiFi, BYOD environment, Google Workspace, Active Directory, user account management, MS Office, desktop imaging tools, remote management software, print server/service management, A/V technology installation and support, wireless presenting, VOIP phone system, general IP device support, vendor claims/RMA and 3rd-party insurance claim process.
  • Prefer experience with: Apple Configurator, Apple's Volume Purchase Program (VPP), Mobile Device Management (MDM), Chrome OS, Android OS, experience with classroom hardware and software (interactive tools, document cameras, Apple TVs, Reflector, Chromecast)
  • Prefer working knowledge of: various educational content creation & curation apps/software such as iMovie
  • Working experience in an educational setting
  • Preferred Certifications: A+ Certified Technician, Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT), ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), Microsoft Certification (MCP), CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management)

Compensation - $31.00 - $36.00 – Based on qualifications and experience.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

  • Required to lift and carry up to a maximum of 25 lbs., in a correct manner consistent with the appropriate training provided by the School.
  • Occasionally required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp, talk, hear, and walk during the course of employment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and an ability to adjust focus.
  • May use telephone, computer, copier, and other office equipment in the course of a day.
  • Required to sit while operating word processing equipment for approximately 6-8 hours daily, repetitive motion for typing and other keystroke needs.
