Job responsibilities:
- General Technology & Office Management:
- Interfaces with industry/academic organizations to maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of emerging Information Technologies.
- Plans and coordinates the acquisition and installation of all computer, communications and sound systems.
- Participates in strategic planning, annual planning and budgeting.
- Develops capital and operational budgets to respective departments within the school.
- Communicates and enforces automation and technology policies.
- Demonstrates problem-solving & analytical abilities.
- Able to explain complex technical concepts in language that is understandable to staff, students & parents.
- Capable to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills.
- Able to meet objectives with little or no direct supervision.
- Capacity to review, identify and implement improvement opportunities where enhanced processes, technology or efficiencies can be applied.
- Able to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Oversees the work of staff members assigned to technology or independent contractors hired to accomplish specific tasks.
- Serves as a team leader for other information technology personnel in the schools and directs their work.
- Coordinates the activities of the Student Technical Team within CVCS.
- System Management:
- Provide system management for tasks related to the school’s information system network working independently and with outside technology vendors when required.
- Maintenance of user access accounts to systems and software.
- Maintain security and integrity of all data and data systems.
- Responsible for issuing, tracking and inventorying of all technology & worship center assets.
- Responsible for the oversight of the audio visual equipment and for managing the audio visual services for all school events.
- Responsible for the oversight of servicing and budgeting of the school’s copiers.
- Verifications of backups and backup systems.
- Management of space resources of the network.
- Provides help desk support to all students, faculty and staff
- Maintains students/faculty 1-1 laptop program.
- Provide leadership in the planning, design and implementation of the information Technology and standard system architectures.
- Provides preventative maintenance, system performance verification, system generation, configuration changes, performs tuning, system upgrades, backup and restore and data archives. Installation of new software and/or upgrading of existing technology.
- Installation of new software upgrades with faculty, staff and students.
- Monitors and enforces all staff and student computer, network, internet and email use policies.
- Initiates and maintains a firewall protection process that effectively secures students and staff who have access to the CVCS network environment.
- Responsible for the operational readiness of the worship center sound booth and the training of the staff and student operators.
- Maintains the security and integrity of all servers, switches, access systems, etc.
Education & experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Systems Management with a minimum of 2 years providing direct oversight of staff.
- Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
Physical requirements:
- Position requires prolonged standing and sitting, bending, stooping and stretching. Position requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
- Position requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Position requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
