St Alban’s College, a private boy’s school based in Pretoria, seeks to appoint a full-time IT MANAGER. The IT Manager oversees the day-to-day operation and management of the College IT infrastructure, administration and services. The IT Manager reports to the Deputy Headmaster: Academics and the Business Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the daily activities of the IT department including implementing, managing and monitoring IT projects in accordance with business requirements and budget as well as building IT user capability by providing IT solutions and support services

  • Interface with the Academic team regarding industry developments and innovation and drive the implementation of relevant teaching and learning initiatives

  • Security and integrity of data, network access, and back-up systems to ensure business continuity

  • Developing and implementing IT policy and best practice guides for the College

Formal Qualifications:

  • A BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field.

Prior Experience Required:

At least 5 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes: –

  • Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience

  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and computer hardware/software systems

  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation

  • Experience in the education sector will be an advantage
