Job Description

Ohio University’s Office of Information Technology is seeking an energetic and driven individual who values team camaraderie to join the Project Management team.

You will be on a team of project managers and business analysts responsible for collaborating with leaders, subject matter experts, end users and technical staff and will be responsible for leading projects through all phases of the project lifecycle. This position will assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, identify needed resources and develop schedules and other project artifacts.

To be successful in this position, you will need to exhibit a great attitude and energy in a team-focused environment. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and follow-through and must be a self-starter able to set and meet deadlines. You will need to have a Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related field, business, communication or equivalent experience and at least three years of demonstrated experience in project management and/or business analysis.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking an IT Project Manager II to facilitate the delivery of small to medium, simple to moderately complex IT solutions requested by OIT and departments and/or planning units across the university. This includes assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying needed resources, developing schedules, and overseeing the completion of the project. The project manager will provide leadership and direction for project teams during all phases of the project lifecycle. This position is required to have excellent follow-through and communication skills and exhibit great attitude and energy in a team-focused environment. 

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Manage small to medium, simple to moderately complex projects 

  • Create and maintain project artifacts such as, but not limited to: project charters, project plans, status reports, communication plans, issues and risks log, etc. 

  • Negotiate conflicts and resolves issues 

  • Provides work direction and leadership to assigned projects including scheduling, assignment of work and review of effort 

  • Identifying resource constraints 

  • Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with business owners, project sponsors, vendors and key clients 

  • Works with Business Analysts and Resource Managers to define and refine project scope 

  • Assists with resource procurement 

  • Participates in development of Statements of Work (SOWs) 

  • Coordinates and contacts vendor references

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate must have earned Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related field, business, communication or related field and at least three years of demonstrated experience in project management and/or business analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of project management concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations; 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Experience working with custom applications, ERPs and/or third party vendors; 
Experience working on Agile project teams; 
PMP certification

Pay Rate

$57,000 to $65,000 depending on candidate’s experience and qualification. Employees also enjoy a generous benefits package including health benefits, paid time off, and education benefits for employees and qualified dependents.
