Position Summary

The IT Project Manager is responsible for simultaneously leading and coordinating multiple technology projects to successful completion. This will entail leading project teams that will result in opportunities to increase efficiencies and enhance the environment across functional boundaries. The position is responsible for recommending options, priorities, risks, and costs of technology solutions that are strategically aligned with institutional goals. The position reports to the Director of IT Project Portfolio Management.

Artifacts may include project invoices, purchase orders, project charter, comprehensive project plan documents such as communication, stakeholder, schedule, quality control plans etc.

Qualifications

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Knowledge of and experience using project management methodologies

  • Ability to lead technical projects involving cross-functional and technical teams

  • Ability to set priorities, assign tasks, set deadlines, and coordinate projects

  • Effective in communication both verbal and written

  • Critical thinking, time management, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targeted deadlines

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. 

  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in the field of Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

Required Work Experience
  • 3 years experience managing projects

  • Expert-level experience with project management tools

  • Experience with the PMI’s PMBOK standards

  • Experience with waterfall project management

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP or CAPM project management  certification

  • CCBA or CBAP business analyst certification

  • Experience leading technology projects across all areas : applications, infrastructure, instructional, service

Work Hours

Monday thru Friday from 8:00 – 5:00

Occasional extended hours required in order to meet critical deadlines
