Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: Occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs; occasional standing or walking with objects 10-25lbs;
intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with intermittent repetitive motions (such as typing); occasional exposure to loud noises; and occasional job related travel (<10% of the time).

Shift

Days shift Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm with some evening, weekend and holiday hours required per business needs.

Job Summary

UK HealthCare (UKHC) Information Technology (IT) is seeking an IT Project Manager
position within the Project & Portfolio Management Office (PMO). This role will be
accountable for efficient, effective delivery of professional services required to support
the UK Healthcare Enterprise. The role requires frequent interaction, collaboration,
planning, and cooperation with senior level UKHC leadership and stakeholders
required to develop and deliver projects that meet Enterprise Business Objectives.
This position will operate in a organization that requires excellent interpersonal skills,
persuasion and influencing skills, and the ability to lead large multi-disciplinary teams
through significant amount of varied work assignments.

The following information represents typical skills and function required to successfully
function in the Project Manager role:

  • Develop, monitor, and control detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) that can

  • be used to develop Project Plans, Project Schedules, Resource Plans, Performance

  • Metrics, Project Milestones, and Business Case(s).

  • Mentor and/or lead stakeholders and associates in the mastery of project

  • management principles and tools.

  • Ensure adherence to established UKHC IT PMO project methodologies.

  • Align projects with business strategy.

  • Develop, monitor, and manage Project budgets.

  • Develop, monitor, and manage Resource Plans.

  • Develop, edit, and publish documentation relative to Project Delivery and Support of

  • the end solution.

  • Develop project briefings, updates, status reports, etc. in a format suitable for

  • briefing senior level UKHC leadership.

UK HealthCare is a comprehensive healthcare system consisting of the medical,
nursing, health sciences, public health, dental and pharmacy patient care activities of
the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, and in several off-site locations. UK
HealthCare is expanding through the construction of a new properties and potential
future acquisitions.

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree and 4-5 years’ experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
