IT Support / Computer Science Instructor
Harrisburg Academy, an independent co-educational day school for students ages 3 through 12th grade, seeks someone for part-time IT support beginning in January 2018. Additionally, there is a need for a part-time computer science instructor to work with students in 8th-12th grade for the 2017-18 academic year. Depending on the qualifications, interest, and availability of the successful candidate, these positions may be combined as a full-time position. Employment will begin shortly after the successful candidate is selected.
For the computer science instruction, of particular importance is knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java. Qualifications and interest in other subjects in mathematics and/or science would be beneficial. At a minimum, the successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a strongly related field and some teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level.
For the IT support position, experience with servers, networks, and databases is desired. Adaptability and willingness to learn on the job are of a high importance.
Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and contact information for three (3) references to Mr. George Nagle, Middle & Upper School divisional assistant, via email. Please use the subject line “IT/CS Position,” regardless of whether you are applying for a part-time position or the full-time position combining both sets of responsibilities. In the body of your email, please indicate if you are applying for IT Support, CS Instruction, or a full-time position combining both jobs. Application materials will be reviewed upon receipt, until a successful candidate has been selected. Harrisburg Academy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
