IT Support Specialist
Setting: Wornick Jewish Day School is a K-8 independent school located in the San Francisco Bay area. It shares a 12-acre campus with the PJCC (Peninsula Jewish Community Center). The campus itself and the school in particular, is an active, bustling environment. While the school shares network infrastructure, servers and security systems with the PJCC, the business processes, educational software, and website are separately managed and supported. The PJCC supervises the Director of Information Technology & Infrastructure and staff assigned to that position.
The School is distinguished for its emphasis on an integrated curriculum that emphasizes connections across academic subjects and among students, families and the community. There is extensive use of technology in the School. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, management information systems or related field
Educational-technology experience
Experience with ISTE standards for technology in the classroom
Google Classroom or Apple Classroom experience
Experience with the use of commercial grade audio/video systems
Experience supporting a STEM/Maker’s Lab
Experience supporting a school administration system
Possible experience with website design
Effective communicator

Responsibilities
Manage the modification, expansion and maintenance of the data infrastructure to ensure efficient and safe growth and development of IT serves for teachers, students and staff.
Hands on contributor and provide desktop support
Manage PC/laptop, mobile device setup and deployment, which is primarily Macbooks and Chromebooks, and some window-based PCs.
Manage applications for business/education including a variety of educational software, Google apps, CRM database (Veracross), financial application (Blackbaud), and website.
Maintain and resolve technical problems with hardware including network printers and software.
Coordinate Campus internet protocol and Wifi network with the Campus
Knowledge of back up and disaster recovery software procedures.
Manage software and hardware licenses, plus inventory of all IT equipment.
Provide training and technical support for teachers, students and staff.
Establish and maintain technical and operating policies, procedures and documentation.
Research software and hardware requirements to provide recommendations regarding applications and purchases.
Maintain currency with developments in education technology
