The Opportunity

Avenues: The World School is widely recognized for our sophisticated use of technology for learning and innovative global school concept, with global campuses connected through technology. Our Information Systems and Technology team is comprised of outstanding professionals at the intersection of education, operations, and technology.

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the implementation and support of technology infrastructure including hardware, software, and office/classroom systems. S/he must effectively diagnose issues and correct problems as well as provide the primary help desk support to end users with exceptional customer service. This role will also take on other technical projects in the technology area. 

Responsibilities

Support

• Resolve technical difficulties with hardware, software, VoIP telecommunication equipment, AV equipment and the network
• Respond to, prioritize, solve and track incoming technology support requests
• Develop and maintain technical documentation of hardware, software and systems
• Evaluate and recommend products for purchase, in support of procurement and development 
• Perform PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs
• Support long-term capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts and supervise contract-based installations
• When necessary, work with third-party support and equipment vendors
• Assist with onboarding procedures, equipment, account set-up
• Performs other duties or special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Candidates should bring most, if not all, of the following strengths: 

• Passion and savvy for innovative technology, always keeping up with the latest ed tech trends
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage and ensure the completion of multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• A proactive customer service approach
• Keen intellectual curiosity and mindset of continuous learning and growth 
• Mac and iOS hardware/software experience, with MAC certification preferred
• Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant professional experience
