IT/Field Technician
Status: Full Time/Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director of Technology
Position Overview: (summary of the main purpose of the job)
Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Computer/Field Technician assists with the service and maintenance of computers, mobile devices, printers, photocopiers, and audio-visual equipment on both campuses. The ideal candidate will have excellent troubleshooting skills and possess the following characteristics: self-motivation, positive energy, strong interpersonal skills, a service-oriented and team approach to work, approachability, openness to new and divergent ideas, excellent oral and written communication skills, and comfort in an educational setting where children and adults are present.
Essential Job Functions:
•Assist in the deployment and maintenance of technology on both campuses.
• Provide tier1 and tier 2 customer support to faculty, staff and students.
• Provide audio-visual support as requested.
• Troubleshoot audio-visual equipment and printers and copiers as needed.
• Work with the technology coordinators and the Information Services Team to determine priorities for daily support.
• Help resolve as many service requests (service tickets) as possible each day.
• Attend school meetings as requested.
• Attend regular meetings with the Information Services Team and report on any issues of concern.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Assist with setups for special events. Occasionally, attendance is required after school or on weekends.
• Participate in research and development tasks.
• Participate in training as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: (Skills, experience, education/certification, etc.)
The IT/field technician must have at least 2 years of experience working in tech support with Apple and Windows operating systems and Microsoft products. Technical certification in Apple product repair (ACT) is desirable but not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to listen and speak clearly. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

This person must also be able to climb stairs and walk three blocks between campuses perhaps multiple times a day. Sometimes this person will need to access or install equipment on ceilings and walls, rooftops, or in crawl spaces, so climbing and crawling through tight spaces is also required.

This person may also need to lift up to 40 pounds when moving or installing equipment.
