POSITION OVERVIEW

SUMMARY

This full time  position is year-round  and reports to the Director of  Information Technology. This position will primarily work on the Tilden Campus. The ideal applicants should desire to become certified in networking or systems as needed. While currently assisting with day to day troubleshooting of Classrooms and Student Devices, the future of this role would continue to focus on Systems Administration / Network Administration.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

 Desired Experience (One or More of the Following)

  • Firewall Management and Configuration

    • Monitoring and Investigating Traffic

  • Network Switch Management 

    • Subnetting, VLANs, and Port Management

  • Wireless Troubleshooting and Deployment

    • Proper WiFi Setup and Configuration

  • MDM Management

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • G Suite Management

  • Ubiquiti Unifi Networking

  • Extreme Networking

  • Ruckus Networking

  • Sonicwall Firewall

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Chromebook Assessment and Troubleshooting

  • ID Card Provisioning and Maintenance

  • Software Troubleshooting and Deployment

  • Classroom Hardware Maintenance and Replacement

  • Timely and professional responses to helpdesk requests

Additional Tasks

  • G Suite User and Chrome Device Management

  • Install and upgrade computer software and hardware

  • Configure chromebooks and computers according to the school and campus standards

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and maintain computer hardware and software.

  • Install, diagnose and troubleshoot basic problems with LAN/WAN equipment, connections, and nodes, including workstations, servers, printers, and peripheral equipment. 

  • Maintain updated inventory records

  • Record and track problems and follow up to ensure resolution, involving vendors and other Information Services staff as necessary. 

  • Research answers and provide end user support on site and remotely regarding supported software (e.g., word processing, terminal emulation, and email).

  • Suggest parts and supplies for ordering as needed. 

  • Assist with on-site introductory training on new hardware and software to users. 

  • Install, terminate, test and troubleshoot in-house station cable. 

  • Coordinate and facilitate cabling projects. 

  • Manage workload in accordance with the department and users priorities.

  • Light work: Employee is frequently required to stand, sit, type on a computer, reach hands and arms, talk, hear and communicate using telephone and email and use up to 10 lbs of force as needed to move objects. 

  • Ability to comply with set standards for safety with students. (Ex: Lockdown, Fire drill, acclimate weather etc.) Ability to lift 30 lbs and run if necessary in case of an emergency.
