Junior Network Administrator
Bridge House is an independent, co-ed day and boarding school close to Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl and is seeking to employ a:
Junior Network Administrator
to assist the Network Manager with the running of the schools IT network.
Starting Date: June or by negotiation.
Candidates applying for this position should have:
- An A+, N+ or equivalent level IT certification
- Three years’ experience in a networking-related IT role
- Good communication skills in English
- Be confident, flexible, patient, maintain confidentiality and be willing to learn
- Have problem-solving and decision-making skills and the ability to prioritise issues
Knowledge of the following will be an advantage: Microsoft Windows 8.1 or newer; Mac OS X; Microsoft Office 2013 or newer; Microsoft Server 2008, 2012, 2016; Pastel; Active Directory; Microsoft Exchange 2010 or newer; DNS, DHCP, WSUS, WDS; VoIP (3CX VoIP system); Firewalls (Cyberoam Firewall); Wireless (Ruckus & Ubiquiti); G-Suite for Education; iPads; Apple Caching Server; Apple Server Manager; Linux.
The position includes the following responsibilities:
- Provide advanced user support; develop and maintain the physical network infrastructure;
- install and provide support for new and existing software;
- manage the help desk system;
- maintain an up-to-date asset and insurance register;
- assist with network documentation;
- assist IT Technicians with network cabling when required;
- help mentor and train the current IT-Tech interns;
- technical support for school functions which may include afterhours work.
The applicant must have his/her own transport. Work hours are: Monday to Friday 08h00 to 16h30 (must be available to work after hours if required).
