Supports the development of World class Hawaiian culture-based education advances and initiatives tied to ʻaina-based education, extended learning and the strengthening of a Native Hawaiian identity. Develops and implements system of support and engagement for the campus, ʻohana and community to advance innovation for model 21st century Hawaiian Learning environments. Program Development and Implementation: Leads and designs the development of 'aina-based education, extended learning and the strengthening of a Native Hawaiian identity through KS-Hawai'i and Halau Kupukupu division work. Provides support and leadership in the implementation and evaluation of best practices in student learning and innovation K-12 through Halau Kupukupu. Develops and implements system of support and engagement for the campus, 'ohana and community to advance innovation for model 21st century Hawaiian Learning environments. Policies and Procedures: Collaboratively works with the School Improvement Director in designing procedures and practices to maintain quality assurance of data collection and analysis processes. Relationship Management: Serves as a strong partner/advocate to meet identified campus, regional & network of Native Hawaiian school needs. Promotes and builds positive, productive relationships with KS-Hawai'i principals and leaders, staff, DOE officials, other partners and collaborators. Supervision and Evaluation: Serves to develop teacher effectiveness and competencies through the supervisory process. Participates in monitoring and improving the quality of instruction through the teacher mini-observation/feedback process on an on-going basis. Participates in formal supervision and evaluation process. Assists in providing additional support through focused assistance for teachers who need it. Creates and sustains an atmosphere of trust by encouraging, facilitating, and recognizing appropriate instructional risk-taking. Supervises implementation of curriculum, instruction and assessment of Halau Kupukupu, including extended learning activities. Supervises teachers and students during all Halau Kupukupu activities. Authority to make appropriate and effective decisions for Halau Kupukupu.
