Position Summary
Looking to fill 2 positions-one is for MS/HS and one is for ES. Both include .25 teaching role attached (likely Makerspace teaching).
PREFERENCE FOR CANDIDATES CURRENTLY IN CHINA
We are looking for candidates both within and outside of China for the 22-23 school year, but please understand that this may change due to the uncertainty of COVID 19 and travel restrictions. At this time priority will be given to:
- Candidates currently residing in China with a work permit.
- Candidates outside of China without dependents.
- Candidates outside of China who understand that their dependents may have to arrive in China after them and as we are able to obtain visas from the government.
The Learning Innovation Coach works with the Learning Innovation Team to assist, support, and lead students, teachers, and administrators to infuse contemporary and emergent teaching and learning practices across Concordia International School Shanghai. The Learning Innovation supports student and faculty learners in introducing, integrating, and innovating learning experiences, teaching, and learning environments. The Learning innovation Coach is responsible for leading and supporting educational technology curriculum and professional learning, working with the Concordia Tech Hub to coordinate educational practices with students, teachers, and the Concordia community.
Qualifications
Education
▪ Bachelor’s Degree, master’s degree in instructional technology preferred
▪ Teaching certification
▪ Certification in Instructional Coaching (e.g., http://www.instructionalcoach.org) or willingness to obtain
Experience
▪ A minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience required
▪ Working in an international school setting or American-style education system
▪ Expertise in using technology in schools, preferably in a 1-to-1 or 2-to-1 program with Apple devices
▪ Significant successful achievements in purposeful and innovative integration of technology to transform learning
▪ Successful experience with curriculum development and collaboration within a professional learning community
▪ Experience preferred with leading Understanding by Design (UbD) or Competency-based education
▪ Experience with inquiry-based project/problem-based, and/or applied learning
▪ Working successfully with an ethnically diverse population
▪ Knowledge and experience preferred in blended, hybrid or online instructional design
▪ Experience preferred with the design thinking process for fostering innovative mindsets

General Expectations
- As a school grounded in the Christian faith, Concordia hires Christian teachers and administrators. - On regular school days, on duty between 7:45 am and 3:45 pm, not inclusive of activities and meetings

Job Specific Expectations
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of a shared vision for the integration of technology and modern/emergent pedagogy in learning and teaching
- Collaboratively plan with, advise, assist, and support teachers and administrators in infusing technology and innovative teaching practice to provide meaningful, relevant, and engaging classroom-based, blended, and online learning experiences for students
- Lead and support the use of digital and web-based strategies and platforms
- Collaborate with instructional teams to identify and plan learning experiences that leverage educational technology and innovative pedagogy
- Lead and support, in conjunction with the curriculum & instruction hub, counselors, information literacy specialists, and teachers, the development and ongoing revision of a meaningful, relevant and articulated digital literacy (ICT, digital citizenship, media literacy, information literacy) curriculum
- Liaise with the Concordia Tech Hub team on technical issues
- Liaise with the student and parent community regarding issues in educational technology and learning
- Contribute to the IT, innovation, and professional development budget development process
- Assist in the development of yearly IT, educational technology and curricular plans
- Create digital resources to support teacher professional learning
- Curate and share exemplars of Concordia innovative practices
