Friends Academy seeks a passionate, positive, and innovative Library and Digital Media Specialist for the 2018-2019 academic school year.
Responsibilities and qualifications include but are not limited to:

Design, implement, and instruct Lower School library classes in Grades EC-5

Co-manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including budget, program, collection development, circulation, volunteer training/coordination, and physical space

Knowledgeable of national and state standards for information and technology literacy, including the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and American Association of School Librarians (AASL) standards.

Actively promote reading, information literacy skills, and information resource use through activities including book clubs, reading programs, reading initiatives, and other special school events.

Desire to contribute to something larger than oneself and a belief in teamwork

Empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information and ideas.
