Library Technology Coordinator                                          Seattle, WA        

Full Time – academic year + 2 weeks

The Bush School is in search of an individual to join our Library/Technology team. A qualified candidate will be able to manage the key responsibilities and tasks as listed below:

  • Maintenance of Library collection, circulation, and database offerings
  • Opening the Library and staffing the Circulation Desk
  • Oversee organization of Library MakerSpace
  • Import and maintenance of MARC records in Follett Destiny
  • Patron assistance, including answering directional questions and assisting with the use of OPAC and other database products
  • Coordinating the work of parent volunteers and library clerk
  • Designing and producing training and promotional materials
  • Troubleshooting problems with Library computers and equipment
  • Support of teachers in their integration of technology tools in the classroom
  • Just-in-time training of faculty and staff in use of technology
  • Attending periodic late-afternoon meetings and participating in School life
  • Other duties as assigned

Successful candidates will have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Library, Media, Technology, or similar studies
  • Exceptional attention to detail-oriented tasks and projects
  • Enthusiasm for working with students, faculty, and the larger School community
  • Appreciation of literacy, reading, and technology skills
  • Ability to prioritize duties with limited supervision and work independently
  • Capacity to diagnose technical issues based on knowledge and research
  • Effective collaboration skills in working with School staff and parents, as well as individuals outside the School
  • Experience in library automation systems, including OPAC, cataloging with MARC records, and Follett Destiny, as well as other circulation, acquisition, statistics and record-keeping modules
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Google Apps, Adobe CS/CC, 3D design, and Windows and Mac OS, as well as a proclivity for learning new software
  • Ability to lift boxes of books and to kneel while working
