Library/Media Specialist
St. Joseph Catholic School in Bradenton, Florida, is seeking a full-time library/media specialist to finish out the current school year, as well as for the 2016-2017 school year.
The ideal candidate will possess:
•Enthusiasm for teaching and learning
•Motivation to work as part of a team to integrate library/media with grade level curriculum content
•Desire to implement emerging technologies to support 21st Century skills
•Ability to meet the diverse and developmental learning needs of elementary age learners
•Strong collaboration and communication skills
•Strong technology skills and familiarity with a variety of research methods, Follett Destiny software, curriculum related Web sites, and Google Classroom.
Responsibilities: Print and digital instruction on a set schedule in an elementary setting. Additional collaboration includes embedding technology and media literacy and 21st Century skills into existing curriculum, kindergarten through 8th grade.
Candidates must have a degree from an accredited college/university, knowledge of current teaching practices, ability to pass a Level II background screening, and hold Media Specialist Certification to teach in the State of Florida, or be eligible for such certification. Teaching experience is preferred. Hours and benefits negotiable.
