Lower Elementary Technology Teacher/ Gardening Program Coordinator
Crestview Preparatory School, a K-6 day school in La Canada, California seeking a dynamic and reliable Lower Elementary Technology Teacher (STEAM) interested in designing a learning environment focused on fostering creativity, collaboration, critical thinking skills and innovation.
The Lower Elementary Technology Teacher works as a part of a team under the supervision of the Director of Technology.
Duties and responsibilities are varied and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
The Lower Elementary Technology Teacher will:
• Teach K-4 Technology and Innovation classes
o Introductory computer and electronic device skills
o Digital citizenship
o Research and information fluency
o Basic programming
o Robotics
o Graphic design
o 3D rendering
o Animation
o Video Editing
o Multiple forms of digital presentations
o Maker challenges
• Expand Gardening Program, by providing direct instruction
in gardening and related hands-on science activities to first
grade class as part of beta-test
• Support Faculty with classroom technology integration and
other technology needs
• Act as a member of the Technology Task Force cohort
• Develop and strengthen the Technology and Innovation
STEAM program alongside the Director of Technology
• Plan, provide and evaluate professional development for all
faculty and staff as a part of the Technology Task Force
• Determine the technology needs of the faculty and staff
with the help of the Director of Technology
This is a part-time position with benefits, with a total of 30 scheduled hours weekly, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, additional hours as needed.
Current TB test and LiveScan will be required prior to the start date of August 31, 2015.
