Makerspace Educator

SSDS, a private school in Newton, MA is looking for a Makerspace educator. We are looking for an innovative and experienced design thinker who will collaborate with the Instructional Technology Specialist to develop curriculum and deliver making opportunities for students in grades 3-8. The job includes 6 hours of teaching time and 6 hrs of planning time per week.

Additional hours possible to plan STEAM events such as a weekend family maker day, field trips etc.

Job Qualifications:
Experience teaching STEAM
Experience in a makerspace environment
Knowledge/ experience with 3d printing, laser cutting, basic electronics, eWearables, Scratch, app development, Arduino
Experience/knowledge of challenge-based and project-based curriculum design

Hrs.
Teaching Hours
T,Th - 3:15-4:15
Wed  3:15 -5:15
2 additional hours per week during the school day. Will consider candidate who is only available for after 3 o’clock hours.
Prep hours are flexible
Job could lead to more hours if the program is successful

Salary
$50 per hour ($600 per week)
