Duties |
Under limited supervision from the Director of Media Technology and Production (‘MTP’) Services, the Manager for Classroom Technology is responsible for the provision and coordination of multimedia services for classes, lectures, meetings, and special events, as well as A/V services in support of the research and academic mission of Penn Medicine. Responsibilities include providing technology training to MTP staff, faculty users, and administrative staff; repairing broken equipment; working with outside vendors for repairs; coordinating and troubleshooting new installations and managed spaces; coordinating multimedia equipment and computer problems; collaborating with Manager for Production with video production services including pre- to post-production services, non-linear editing, and DVD authoring with menus and creation of digital files. This position manages the staff for Penn Medicine on- and off-site, providing supervision and guidance; participating in hiring and firing decisions; and conducting performance evaluations. The Manager provides the MTP Project Manager with back up support for multimedia services such as Rich Media Recording and Streaming Technology, Digital Signage Technology, and Classroom Web Control Technologies. Manages the installation of software and hardware, as well as keeping current on all required upgrades for all multimedia equipment. Manages all Video Conferencing equipment and coordinates video conferencing events. Manages administrative duties that are required for MTPand AV Rental Center. Manages processing of AV Rental Center service requests and creates invoices for AV Rental Center services. The Manager for Classroom Technology is required to handle other task assignments when the other Management is scheduled out of the office. Must be able to work odd hours, sometimes with little or no notice. This position is considered ‘essential.’ |
Qualifications |
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. 5 to 7 years of relative work experience preferred.
Please note that Space Planning & Operations staff are considered to be ‘essential.’ |
