Position Summary

This position will manage our Classroom Technology Services team responsible for classroom technology design, installation, maintenance, repair, and frontline classroom technology response, as well as providing course capture and video conferencing services for all UB campuses.

● Ensures that spaces with permanently installed audiovisual technologies in centrally scheduled spaces (approximately 170 spaces on campus) are appropriately supported and maintained
● Manages the timely delivery of audiovisual technologies to spaces that don’t have it installed
● Oversees the design, selection, installation, programming, testing and support of classroom technologies (HW & SW) and standards
● Ensures the Classroom Technology Services staff are meeting established service level commitments.  
● Work with other University departments, AV vendors and contractors on design and installation planning. Participate in classroom committee planning discussions.

Minimum Qualifications

Degree:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information System or a relevant technical discipline.

Experience:
● Experience supporting technology enabled classrooms is mandatory. This experience should include all technical aspects of classroom technology, including systems installation and administration.
● Experience supervising technical professionals.  
● Experience supporting and maintaining audiovisual technologies on an enterprise level scale
● Experience working with audiovisual consultants and contractors in the integration of audiovisual technologies in new construction and renovation projects
● Excellent project management and organizational skills
● Experience planning, organizing, training and managing a diverse number of functions and personnel

Excellent interpersonal skills, work well with minimal supervision, and facilitate problem resolution under time pressure.

Be able to work with and communicate effectively both orally and in writing with students, faculty and staff with differing levels of audiovisual and computer knowledge.

Ability to work extended hours, holidays, and varied hours required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred.

Additional industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D or Crestron CTI-P301 preferred.

Experience utilizing current technology control systems such as those manufactured by Crestron or Extron
