Kutztown University is seeking a hands-on Manager, Cyber Security to join our team.  This position will be responsible for ensuring that the University's data, voice, video, applications and IT infrastructure are designed, implemented and secured to the highest standards in compliance with any application laws, regulations, university policy and best practices.  The position incorporates security into the infrastructure and application design processes and continuously evaluates threats and vulnerabilities, identifies gaps in security controls and makes recommendations to strengthen security across the organization.  This position will coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of organizational programs to ensure protection of employee, student, alumni and other pertinent data.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, IT Security or related field required. A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Evidence of effective skills in creative problem solving and a team-based approach to achieving success in a technical environment

  • Excellent analytical, time management and interpersonal/organizational skills

  • Knowledge concerning information policies based on the NIST framework.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Three to five years of work within the information security field and experience in one of the following areas:
    • Threat monitoring, log management, incident management, risk management, compliance (HIPPA, FERPA, GDPR, PCI DSS,), vulnerability management or security awareness
  • Hands-on experience with security information and management tools
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Certification in one of the following:
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
    • CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
    • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
    • CompTIA Security+

The anticipated starting salary range is $75,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience.
